“No Knight Needed”EVER AFTER Book #1

Broad shoulders silhouetted in the night. Strong arms anchoring her against a powerful chest. A modern-day knight in shining armor on a stormy mountainside… Who has time for that kind of fantasy? Not Clare Gray, that’s for sure. The plucky single mom is a little too busy to dream about turbulent dark eyes brimming with intensity, and sensual kisses that ignite her soul. But when Boston business mogul Griffin Friese steps out of his black truck on the abandoned mountain road and helps Clare rescue her daughter from a deadly Maine storm, her well-ordered world implodes.
Suddenly, Clare finds herself having fantasies about tender loving and hot passion with the mysterious stranger with the rain-slicked jacket and the angel painted on the roof of his truck. The midnight encounter awakens yearnings in Clare that are far too dangerous to explore, but when she learns that her heroic knight is staying in town for a few days, he becomes a reality she can’t deny. She’s already barely surviving, so how can she risk her heart with a man who threatens everything she believes in?

Kisses that set her on fire. A tender smile that melts her heart. Promises of forever…. It’s the fairytale that no woman can afford to believe in, especially not Astrid Munroe. Oh, she did once, long ago, but the scars etched on her heart remind her that the only one she can trust is herself. The flamboyant designer with the quick wit and spunky demeanor will never show the world how much she is struggling…until she meets Jason Sarantos, a man whose tormented past enables him to see the secrets she is trying to hide.
The connection between the two damaged souls is instant and electrifying, shredding the defenses Astrid had worked so carefully to erect, and tumbling her into a world of passion and vulnerability she can’t control. Jason has moved to Maine to rebuild his life after the tragic death of his wife and youngest son, and Astrid’s vibrant spirit ignites a searing fire in the single dad that he thought was long dead. Intense, soul-shattering passion explodes between the pair, threatening everything that they hold most dear. Is there a way to stop the fire before it consumes them, or are they fated to a future more beautiful and more heart-wrenching than either thought was possible?

Interview with Tracey O'Hara, author of The Dark Brethren series

1. Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or was there something else you wanted to do as a career?

Actually I never had any inclination to be a writer until 2004 when I discovered my passion for writing. I was researching my family history and wanted to write about it. However I started getting ideas for fictional stories and started to write my first book.

I am actually an Analyst programmer by day and have always been a logical thinking and more a maths and science geek that literary. That said I have been a reader forever.

2. Is there one author that you have read every book that they have written?

I would have said yes – a few years ago. I used to read everything written by Raymond E Feist, Stephen King, Anne McCaffry up until a few years ago. But when I published got so busy I have not had a chance to keep up with later books. I am very eclectic in my reading and I have a lot of favourite authors but not one that I could say I have read every single book.

3. In you opinion what is the best movie adaptation of a book that you've read?

Well – it’s not a movie – but I would have to say the HBO TV series adaption of the The Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin would have to be one of my favourites. The casting of the characters was perfect, and loved the world they brought to life. I don’t think I had one disappointment except for maybe Jaime Lanister, but only in looks – I think he captures the character superbly.

I also enjoyed the movie adaption of To Kill a Mocking Bird – that could be because I saw the movie before I read the book. But in all things – I much prefer the books to the adaptations.

4. When you are browsing book stores what is the first section you go to?

The paranormal section – of course. I love looking at the titles and to see what has come out. Seeing books in real life is a lot different to seeing cover art in the internet. But I tend to read more eBooks or listen to audiobooks these days because I find them more convenient, especially ebooks as I can listen to them when I am driving and doing other things. I don’t usually read in my genre when I am working on a story.

5. If your book was being made into a movie do you already have actors in mind for each role? What bands/singers would you put on the soundtrack?

I have no actors in mind at all. The characters are so strong in my head that it would be difficult seeing anyone playing those parts. I guess every writer dreams of seeing their stories coming alive on the screen – big or small – but it is hard to image who could play the parts. As for the soundtrack – well – I am a metal head and would want a heavy thumping soundtrack for sure.

6. When you're creating characters do you incorporate traits from people you know?

Yes and no – I have created a few characters from people I know because they wanted to be written into the story. So if I could make it work – then I would put in characters based on people I know. But most of my characters are ones from my imagination so any similarities are purely coincidental.

7. If you had the chance to have a sit down with any author alive or deceased who would it be and why?

Okay – my favourite author is George R.R. Martin who writes the Song of Ice and Fire fantasy series. I was fortunate enough to meet and speak with George (albeit briefly) in 2010. I definitely got my fan girl on. I am just in total awe of his story telling, his characterisation, and his ability to totally pull me into his books. I love the fact that I can’t see what is coming and yet enjoy trying to figure what might happen next. I would love to sit down with him again and talk about the series – but would probably be a totally tongue tied geek-girl again.

Interview with Jessica Brody, author of My Life Undecided

Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or was there something else you wanted to do as a career?

The short answer is yes. I’ve always wanted to be a writer. Although it took me a long time to figure that out. In second grade I turned in a four page book report (the assignment was to write one paragraph) and the teacher made such a huge deal about it. I really couldn’t understand why. Writing just came naturally to me. At that moment I remember wanting to be a writer. But somewhere along the way I convinced myself that I needed to get a “serious” job…you know, one that comes with dental insurance. So I majored in Economics in college (very serious!) and went on to be a financial analyst for MGM Studios. It wasn’t until later that I realized “serious” wasn’t for me. So I quit to pick up where I left off at age seven.

Is there one author that you have read every book that they have written?

There are a few, actually! Here’s a list: Emily Giffin, Sophie Kinsella, Alyson Noël, J.K. Rowling, Christopher Pike (I used to be obsessed with him as a kid!), and Jennifer Bosworth (technically she only has one release so far, but I’m lucky enough to be her friend and to have read her next book too!)

In your opinion what is the best movie adaptation of a book that you've read?

Well, it hasn’t released yet but I have VERY high hopes for THE HUNGER GAMES. I love love love the book series and so far, the movie trailers look excellent. It’s just a book that really lends itself to being a movie. It has a very cinematic plot. So I’m hoping that will be my answer in about two weeks! But until then, I’ll go with THE HELP. I thought they did an amazing job of capturing the magic of that book. And the Harry Potter series also made fantastic movies. But no matter how good an adaptation is, the books are always better, aren’t they?

When you are browsing book stores what is the first section you go to?

Young adult! I love this section. Actually nowadays it’s all I read. And not just because I write in this genre, but because I really think some of the best books out there are YA books. They have faster plots, more action, and great characters!

If your book was being made into a movie do you already have actors in mind for each role? What bands/singers would you put on the soundtrack?

For My Life Undecided¸ I’ve always pictured Shailene Woodley as Brooklyn Pierce. She has this great innocence about her look which I love. And she’s an amazing actress. For The Karma Club, I would really love to see Selena Gomez in the role of Maddy. As for bands for the soundtrack, well, I actually already did a soundtrack for The Karma Club. It’s on iTunes and it even has four original songs that were written JUST for the book. You can check it out here:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-karma-club-original-book/id407598156

When you're creating characters do you incorporate traits from people you know?

Yes, all the time! MY LIFE UNDECIDED actually has a few real people in it. I set it in my home town of Parker, Colorado, at a fictitious representation of my own high school. Mr. Simpson, the Algebra teacher in the book is based entirely on Mr. Simpson, my own high school algebra teacher. And I based one of the boys in MY LIFE UNDECIDED on a boyfriend I had in high school. He even has the same name and drives the same car as my ex did! And the funniest part was, I hadn’t spoken to this guy since high school and right when I finished writing the book, he Facebooked me out of the blue to say hi. It was really surreal. He must have knew on some level that I was writing about him.

If you had the chance to have a sit down with any author alive or deceased who would it be and why?

I definitely think it would have to be J.K. Rowling. I would love to see how her brain works. I’m in total awe of that imagination of hers!

Thanks for the fun interview! These were great questions! I hope you and your blog readers enjoy my answers!

Interview with Mari Mancusi, author of The Blood Coven Vampires series

1. Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or was there something else you wanted to do as a career?
I knew I always wanted to write, but I didn't think I could ever turn it into a real career. So I studied film in college and ended up becoming a TV news producer. Working in TV is really great--you get to go a lot of places and meet a ton of people--even famous ones. I used to interview celebrities all the time in NYC and go to red carpet events, etc. But still, I had this burning urge to give it all up and write books! There's just something about being able to sit in front of your computer and make stuff up for a living! Best job in the world. So I'm very thankful I have a chance, now, to do it full time.
2. Is there one author that you have read every book that they have written?
That's a good question! I'm not sure there is. My husband likes to tease me that I always watch one season of every TV show. And I'm kind of like that with books, as well. I like to read so many different books, sometimes I don't get to read EVERY book by a certain author. I will say there is an author named Marion Zimmer Bradley, who wrote my favorite book ever -- The Mists of Avalon -- which is a retelling of the King Arthur story from the female point of view. I would like to read all of the books she wrote, but I haven't gotten there yet!
3. In you opinion what is the best movie adaptation of a book that you've read?
That’s a tough one. It’s so hard to watch a film after you’ve read the books. They just have to leave so much out! I guess I’d have to say The Shining, which is a horror film, based on a Stephen King novel. Both the book and the film are so good—but so different.
4. When you are browsing book stores what is the first section you go to?
I usually go the young adult section to check out the new releases. I have a lot of friends who write
young adult so it's funto visit their books, even if I, myself, don't have a new release. I also like to go to the sci-fi/fantasy section.
Nowadays I read most of my books digitally so I don’t hit the bookstores as often. Which is too bad, in a way. I love browsing through shelves on a rainy day.
5. If your book was being made into a movie do you already have actors in mind for each role? What bands/singers would you put on the soundtrack?
I know a lot of my readers have actors in mind to play the parts—sometimes I see them post photos of them on Facebook, etc. I think Ben Barnes would make an excellent Magnus. Maybe Emma Stone could play Rayne? She’s a little old, but has the right attitude. Jareth—maybe the character who plays Jasper in the Twilight films? I don’t know. I’m sure my readers are better at picking and choosing than me.
As for a soundtrack, lots of goth and 80s alternative for Rayne and maybe some happier songs for Sunny. Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, VNV Nation, Muse, Death Cab for Cutie, The Cure, Depeche Mode, and, of course MCR. Sunny might want a little Dave Matthews, but that won’t be happening, thank you very much!
6. When you're creating characters do you incorporate traits from people you know?

I’ve definitely done that in the past, thought often not intentionally. An author can’t always help fictionalizing things from everyday life. For example, I’d say Sunny and Rayne both have a little of me in each of them. But they’re also different.

7. If you had the chance to have a sit down with any author alive or deceased who would it be and why?
I’d love to sit down with Anne Rice. She’s such a great author and her Vampire Chronicles changed my life. Plus, she seems like she’d be an interesting person to talk to, as well. Very informed and opinionated about the world around her.

Review of Torn by Erica O'Rourke

June 28, 2011

Genre: YA Fantasy

Everyone has secrets.

Even best friends.

Swirling black descends like ravens, large enough to block the glow of the streetlights. A dull roar starts like a train on the 'L', a far-away rumbling that grows louder as it pulls closer, until it's directly overhead and you feel it in your chest, except this doesn't pass you by. Verity, white-faced and eyes blazing, shouts through the din, "Run, Mo!"

REVIEW

I can't even begin to express how much I loved this book. It has everything that makes a great book - suspense, romance, and tons of twists and turns that'll have even the most finicky reader hooked. I adored the main character Mo because all of her quirks were what made her such an interesting and likable character. I was disappointed when the book was over and I am eager to read the next book in by this series.

Review of Devious by Lisa Jackson

February 28, 2012 Rick Bentz/Reuben Montoya

The crime scene at St. Marguerite’s cathedral in New Orleans is shocking, even to seasoned detectives like Rick Bentz and Reuben Montoya. A novice nun named Sister Camille has been found dressed in a yellowed bridal gown and viciously garroted, her body covered with an altar cloth. Valerie Houston is devastated by her sister’s death. For weeks, she’d begged Camille to leave St. Marguerite’s, where she seemed determined to live as some kind of martyr. But Camille had a knack for making bad choices — she joined the convent in part because she’d fallen for Val’s soon-to-be ex-husband, Slade. Convinced the police aren’t doing enough, Val begins to investigate. Slade, on a mission to repair their marriage, is determined to help her. But the deeper Val’s inquiries go, the more twisted the case becomes. St. Marguerite’s is far from the tranquil retreat many believe, and everyone, from handsome Father Frank O’Toole to the mysterious Mother Superior, has their own agenda. Despite their closeness, even Camille had a hidden life Val never suspected. But someone knew about Camille’s past — and Val’s, too. Now she has no choice but to catch a devious, depraved killer intent on purging St. Marguerite’s of all its sins — before she becomes the next victim…

Review

The title is so fitting for everything that happens throughout Devious. Anyone who enjoys a pulse pounding thriller that will keep you guessing should read this book. There were so many twists and surprises throughout the book that had me hooked. The cast of characters played off one another really well which is one of the things that makes for a good read. Devious kept me constantly guessing and it had everything which made it a pulse-pounding thrill ride.

REVIEW

King of Darkness by Elisabeth Staab begins at an even pace and picks up speed quickly. The characters of Thad and Isabel are complete opposites yet that is one of the things that makes this book so enjoyable to read. Romance readers will undoubtedly be pleased that there are multiple romantic relationships that form throughout this novel. Elisabeth Staab makes the relationships between her characters more real by adding plenty of internal and external conflict. I'm sure that many people who've read this thrilling paranormal romance are as eager as I am to see what Elisabeth Staab has in store for the diverse cast of characters she has created.

Review of Judging a Book by Its Lover by Lauren Leto

REVIEW

Lauren Leto's Judging a Book by Its Lover is a very humorous and light hearted book that focuses on book lovers. The author goes into great detail about why we love the books we do and what to expect from fans of a slew of well known authors. My favorite parts of this book were the parts where Lauren Leto shared memories of her childhood as well as her high school years. They struck a chord with me because I was not much different during my high school years. I also loved the chapter about why the term "book worm" should changed to "book cat" because each reason given made perfect sense to me. While there were a few parts I disagreed with I still found myself laughing to myself.

Want to impress the hot stranger at the bar who asks for your take on Infinite Jest? Dying to shut up the blowhard in front of you who’s pontificating on Cormac McCarthy’s “recurring road narratives”? Having difficulty keeping Francine Prose and Annie Proulx straight?

For all those overwhelmed readers who need to get a firm grip on the relentless onslaught of must-read books to stay on top of the inevitable conversations that swirl around them, Lauren Leto’s Judging a Book by Its Lover is manna from literary heaven! A hilarious send-up of—and inspired homage to—the passionate and peculiar world of book culture, this guide to literary debate leaves no reader or author unscathed, at once adoring and skewering everyone from Jonathan Franzen to Ayn Rand to Dostoyevsky and the people who read them.

Review of Deserving of His Diamonds by Melanie Milburne

REVIEW

Deserving of his Diamonds by Melanie Milburne displays a range of emotions through her writing. I felt everything that the characters Emilio and Gisele were feeling and any author who has the ability to make me tear up only to have me laughing out loud moments later is truly talented. The pace of this book was just right giving the length of the novel. While I enjoyed the entire novel immensely my favorite part by far was easily the ending because all romance novels should have a happily ever after.

His not-so-perfect fiancee...Emilio Andreoni's goal is perfection: a corporate king and Italy's most eligible bachelor, he craves only one more thing to complete his phenomenally successful life - the perfect woman! Once he thought that woman was shy Gisele Carter - until her scandalous goings-on became headline news and he called off their seemingly perfect engagement. But now Emilio is faced with proof of Gisele's innocence! He's determined to win back the only woman who ever truly satisfied him, but first he must persuade Gisele she's worthy of wearing his diamonds again...Don't miss this first instalment in Melanie Milburne's The Outrageous Sisters duet!

Review of Moon Music by Faye Kellerman

In the bleak wasteland of the Nevada desert, not far from the sparkling, twenty-four-hour neon of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, the body of a once-beautiful showgirl is discovered, horribly mauled and mutilated. It is a horrendous crime, shocking in its brutality, excessive even for a city celebrated for its excess.

Seasoned police veteran and Vegas native Detective Sergeant Romulus Poe has seen his fair share of depravity in this mecca of glitz and vice. But there is something about this unfortunate young woman's death—and a similar murder that is to follow soon after—that harkens back to an unsolved slaying and so-called suicide a quarter century ago. The grim similarities—along with some frightening new possibilities—are leading Poe into a night world of dark shadows best left unilluminated and pulling the inquisitive policeman toward secrets from a strange and sordid past that could destroy those closest to him, and drag him over the edge.

REVIEW

Moon Music by Faye Kellerman is an intense story that was not what I initially expected when I began reading. The way Faye Kellerman describes Las Vegas with such strong words made me feel as if I was there. Moon Music begins at a good pace which quickly kicks into high gear. The characters were very well developed and intriguing because each of them had flaws which is what made them so real to me. Midway through Moon Music when I thought I had figured out what was going to happen, Faye Kellerman went and completely changed directions. This was an extremely smart move because everything I previously believed was tossed out and in order to know who the villain was I had to continue reading.

Review of Fever by Joan Swan

Dr. Alyssa Foster will admit to a bad boy fetish. . .
But when she finds herself face to face with a convicted murderer with a ripped body, a determination for freedom and an eye on her as his get out of jail free card, Alyssa knows she's in deep trouble. . .. Not just because Teague Creek is a prisoner desperate for freedom, but because his every touch makes her desperate for more.
A man with a life sentence has nothing to lose. . .
Teague Creek has one shot at freedom, but his plan to escape with a hostage develops a fatal flaw: Alyssa. On the run from both the law and deadly undercover operatives who know of his strange abilities, he needs to avoid trouble, but every heated kiss tells him the fire between them could be just as devastating as the flames that changed him forever.

Fever by Joan Swan starts with a bang with a serious case of mistaken identity that sets the stage for a sizzling hot romantic suspense novel that will leave your pulse racing. The character of Teague Creek is the token bad boy with a rough exterior that hides his gentler side. The way each of the characters play off one another and their dialogue is just one of the things that I love about this book. I found myself liking the characters Alyssa and Teague more and more as the story progressed because Alyssa was not afraid to fight back at all and while Teague does certain things most people wouldn't do, I was able to understand the reasoning behind his actions. I mentally applauded when Luke and Teague overcame their differences and worked together to stop Zasser, someone from Teague's past who is ruthless and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. The relationship between Alyssa and Teague proves that the line between love and hate is indeed a thin one.

Interview with SJ Byrne, author of My Butterfly

1. Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or was there
something else you wanted to do as a career?

I knew early on I enjoyed writing and it came easily to me. I began writing my first book at the age of 21 and had approximately 200 pages of manuscript when life threw some curve balls my way that completely derailed my writing. I lost the disc for that book but kept the hard copy with me everywhere I moved to (and that was a lot of places!). It took me 10 years to get back to my writing and another 5 to pick back up that original manuscript. Looking back, I don't know how I could have thought I should be doing anything OTHER than writing! It is my soul's respite and without the constant creative flow I don't function very well.

2. Is there one author that you have read every book that they have written?

There was a time I would have said Diana Gabaldon, but I have a few of Lord John's books I haven't read. No, there isn't any author whose every book I have read. I flit around from author to author and especially now that I'm a part of the Indie Author scene, I've been reading A LOT of my fellow Author's works. There's tons of good books out there!

3. In you opinion what is the best movie adaptation of a book that you've read?

Honestly, I tend to stay away from reading books and then watching the movie; they never seem to match up to what I have in my head. I will say I LOVED the Harry Potter movies, but haven't read the books. I have them (thanks to my daughter) and while everyone else is sad because the journey is over, I still have the books to look forward to!

4. When you are browsing book stores what is the first section you go to?

Paranormal - I LOVE the paranormal section. I used to be a heavy romance reader, but that love has been replaced with a need to go to places unseen in today's world.

5. If your book was being made into a movie do you already have actors
in mind for each role? What bands/singers would you put on the
soundtrack?

Oh wow. Um...No. LOL I haven't even begun to think about that. I'd need several Scottish actors/actresses for my book and the thought of that just makes me weak in the knees! I do know that Eminem/Rihanna's song Love the way you lie pt 2 is a perfect match for the book. That and Flogging Molly's Leave this world alive

6.. When you're creating characters do you incorporate traits from
people you know?

I don't do it purposely, but I can see where it happens from time to time. I only hope anyone who sees themselves in my writing doesn't get offended by it. I find it to be the highest compliment!

7. If you had the chance to have a sit down with any author alive or
deceased who would it be and why?

I'd love to sit down with Karen Marie Moning. If you've read any of her blogs about writing the Fever series, you know the story line came to her in one dream. My writing works in a similar fashion and it would be great to sit and chat with someone who truly understands the up and downs that comes with channeling your work. I know how my characters behave when I get something wrong; frustration city! To have a connection with someone who understands that, out of this world!

Review of Blaze by Joan Swan

She needs to save Mateo from the cult leader holding him hostage. Nothing can interfere with that--not even the reappearance of Luke Ransom, the hot-as-hell fire captain she's regretted walking out on for three long years.

Losing Keira left Luke vulnerable--in every way. When they were together, the powers each possesses were mysteriously enhanced. But it's the sexy, surprising woman beneath the tough exterior that Luke's really missed. Even if she betrayed him utterly. And even if agreeing to help her uncover a government conspiracy means watching his life and his heart go up in flames again. . .

REVIEW

Blaze by Joan Swan is the second book in her Phoenix Rising series. Blaze immediately kicks into high gear with tons of action. I enjoyed getting to know more about the character of Luke Ransom. The relationship between Keira and Luke was incredibly intense and the intimate scenes were downright steamy. I loved the role reversal that took place in Blaze, it usually is the male main character who holds back and is hesistant to settle down. I found the fact that Keira knew what she did and didn't want and how she was not afraid to go after it. I was very pleased that some of the characters from Fever returned and played such an important part in Blaze's storyline. This is a thrill a minute, high octane romantic suspense novel with a dash of paranormal tossed into the mix and I cannot wait for the next book in this amazing series.

Excerpt

As the lid sealed, the wallscreen beeped and displayed the one face I could stare at all day.

“Sirius, what are you doing here? It’s almost curfew.” I stepped around the gurgling machine that kept Great-grandma Tiff alive, careful not to tangle my legs in the wires and tubes.
He smiled, a devilish grin teasing me and luring me in at the same time. My logical mind disintegrated into irrational cravings. “Come on. I have something I know you’ll want to see.”

About the Author:

Aubrie grew up watching the original
Star Wars movies over and over until she could recite and reenact every single scene in her backyard. She also loved The Goonies, Star Trek the Next Generation--favorite character was Data by far--and Indiana Jones. But, her all time favorite movie was The Last Unicorn. She still wonders why the unicorn decided to change back to a unicorn in the end.

Aubrie wrote in her junior high yearbook that she wanted to be "a concert flutist" when she grew up. She majored in flute performance at the University of New Hampshire on a full scholarship, then secured two teaching jobs at a University and a local community music school. While playing in orchestras and teaching, stories popped into her head, and she used them to make the music come alive for her flute students. Her students said they were so good, she had to write them down! Maybe they were right, who knows? Two careers seems to keep her busy. For now.

She is represented by
Dawn Dowdle and writes sweet and adventurous fantasy, science fiction, and contemporary romance.

Interview with Pamela Palmer, author of the Feral Warriors series

1. If someone looked at your browsing history right now, what kind of
things would we find?

Ha. LOFT, Victoria's Secret, hotels in Berlin, and weather facts for Montana.

2. If you could write about any subject that is near and dear to your
heart, what would it be and why?

Honestly, I don't think of myself as a writer so much as a storyteller. I write to tell my stories, but otherwise, not unless I have to. And with my paranormals, I'm writing exactly what I love!

3. Do you have a favorite song, album, or playlist to write to?

I do. I write to Keiko Matsui's new age jazz instrumentals, all her albums.

4. What was the first thing you did after the debut of the first book you wrote?

My friends threw me a surprise party/booksigning!

5. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Credit card applications that flood my mail.

6. Do you have any guilty pleasures?

It depends on who you ask (whether or not they're guilty)! I love True Blood and Caramel Nips candies. Do those count?
7. What was your favorite book as a teen?

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

8. If an aspiring writer asked for advice what would you tell them?

Work on your craft, write, write, write, and never give up.

9. What is the one thing that scares you more than anything else?

That it turns that the worlds I've created, and their terrifying villains, are real.

Sylvia Day's Bared to You.

Interview with P.G. Forte, author of Finders Keepers

If someone looked at your browsing history right now, what kind of
things would we find.

Cremation urns, cookie recipes, "how to plant coconuts on lava", "the battle of the Oak King and Holly King", pitbulls, bamboo beach houses, ho'opono.

If you could write about any subject that is near and dear to your heart, what would it be and why?

I want to write a humorous book about dealing with dementia. Because the people who are providing care for someone like that need all the humor they can get.

Do you have a favorite song, album, or playlist to write to?
Product Details
It changes with every book...or at least with every series.

What was the first thing you did after the debut of the first book you wrote?

I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't do too much. I was still too much in shock.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
Song lyrics. Is it so hard to write a song that makes sense? Or one in which the tenses aren't constantly changing? My kids frequently beg me not to listen to the words, but I tell them that if the words aren't supposed to make sense they shouldn't be there.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Spoiling my dog.

What was your favorite book as a teen?
On the Night of the Seventh Moon, by Victoria Holt, These Old Shades, by Georgette Heyer, The Lord of the Rings, by JRR Tolkien

What book are you reading right now?
With Strings Attached by Kelly Jamieson, Nobody's Angel by Stacy Gail and What a Girl Wants by Selena Robins. It's been a slow month. I have a lot of catching up to do. :)

Optional questions :)

Favorite Meal: either butternut squash ravioli at Checkers in Calistoga or the tan-tan noodles at Long Life Veggie House in Berkeley.

Favorite Drink (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) Coffee? Wine? I have to choose? No.

Sweet or Salty snacks? Really hate choosing. I can't imagine life without either one.

All time favorite movie The Butcher's Wife. It's sexy, funny, paranormal and set partially in New York City. The plot is complicated as hell and all the characters are flawed. I love it!

Best book to movie adaption

Well, that depends. I thought the first LOTR movie was amazing in that it looked just exactly the way I'd always imagined it. Of course, I feel the same could be said of most adaptations of Pride and Prejudice. One movie that I thought was vastly superior to the book is The Natural. Loved the movie, hated the book.

Worst book to movie adaption
Almost all of them. The more I love a book, the more likely it is that I'll be disappointed with the movie. I'm a purist. I sit there in the theater grousing, "That's not how that line goes!"
P.G. Forte's bio

Love without Limits, Romance without Rules! Life's more fun when you play outside the lines.

I wrote my first serialized story when I was still in my teens. The sexy, adventure tales were very popular at my oh-so-proper, all girls, Catholic High School, where they helped to liven up otherwise dull classes.

Even if my teachers didn't always think so.

Amazon's P. G. Forte PageA lot of years have passed since then, but I'm still at it, penning novels and novellas in the romantic suspense, psychic fiction and erotic romance and paranormal genres.

Originally a Jersey Girl, I currently reside on the Extreme Left Coast. When I'm not pestering my husband for his help in researching scenes for my books, or being entertained by my two vastly amusing adult children, I can be found serving the needs and whims of either my characters or my cats.

It's a thankless job, but someone's gotta do it.
